First off, this is a stunningly beautiful turntable. Seriously, the pictures don't do it justice. The fit and finish is top notch. Nearly everything, save the 45 rpm adapter which is made of plastic, feels of quality. The problem is I've never been a fan of Alvin and the Chipmunks and with this record player, that's pretty much all I got. There are fine tuning adjustments located on the bottom of this turntable that allow for some correction if the speed is off. Unfortunately, the corrections I was able to get came nowhere near to fixing the problem. In fact, if I turned the pot too far, it would suddenly jump to something approaching 78 rpm. This was with the 33 rpm selected.Follow that up with calls to Fluance resulting in being returned to the main menu over and over again and it's more than a little frustrating. Also, I've already been through two samples of another even more highly regarded turntable, each of which didn't operate property, and you can understand why my patience is beginning to run a tad short.I would think that since record players are one of the oldest methods of playing back music we'd have the technology mastered by now. But, no. Apparently, turntables are still cause for head scratching and decades of R&D to get these vinyl discs to play properly. I weep for the poor aliens who come across our golden disc floating through interstellar space and have to try and figure out how to get the damn thing to play. They'll either think we're a planet of singing chipmunks or end up committing mass suicide as they drink themselves into the blackest depression the universe has ever seen trying to conjure up the technology required to play the darn thing.Okay, hyperbole aside, I understand that defects happen. I'm giving it 2 stars because I know there are good samples of this product out there. But I'm not the only one that has experienced speed issues with this unit and I feel I need to add my experience to the pool. I wish I had gotten a good sample of this beautiful product. Perhaps, I'll try another order someday but for now, I've got to just leave this here. - Verified Store
