Works great. Can put in a negative and I can look at it in real color!
Wish it could scan at a larger file.

I was hoping this scanner would work as there was not that many reviews out there, checked prices of other better known brands but they were to pricy , but this one with 5 inch screen looked good so I ordered it , and after going through 1000 35mm slides worked excellent, very pleased with 5 inch screen, and the results when I put in my computer were great, brought back a lot of old memories , some from the early 60's

The Magnasonic Scanner is easy to use; even for someone that is not technologically savvy. The digital quality appears to be very good. Loaded our old 35mm slides onto a San Disk, then moved them to the iMac via "Apple Photo" software. It is great to see the events of our lives captured on 35mm slides 40+ years ago that have been collecting dust in the closet.

I'm not a person that usually takes the time to write product reviews although I always take time to read them before buying unknown products. In this case, I read a LOT of reviews from different slide/negative scanners before deciding to buy this Magnasonic. Almost bought the similar Kodak unit, but decided I could save $40 and get this one. I'm very glad I did. This unit has it all, easy to set up and use, excellent 5" screen to view what I'm doing and multiple choice ways to project or save the original. I had a slew of 16mm slides, which are very uncommon, and which show up very tiny if you use a standard projector to look at them. Plus, who wants to do all that when other options like this are available. Anyway, those 16mm slides happen to be the same size as the old 110 size so this unit worked perfectly for me. The built in tech is amazing to me in a unit at this price so I highly recommend it. I breezed through my hundreds of slides in just a couple sittings and enjoyed the process because it was so painless.

Works as advertised. I scanned over 200 35mm slides in about an hour and a half.

The scanner is very easy to use and it works very well. Even the instruction booklet is not very well written, I can start using it in no time. I have a flatbed scanner that can scan slides and negatives. However, this unit can do the two day job in a couple of hours. The finished product is satisfactory and a quick touch up by Photoshop will complete the job. I had successfully scan both colour and B&W positive and negative film strips and slides.

I'd have preferred a smaller file size and better chip. Fine for archival purposes but going to make proper scans of any images I'd like to print. Operation is quick and easy--2 second scan and easy insertion.

Works just fine to convert very old 35mm slides to digital images. It took a little time to learn the steps and techniques well enough not to have to follow the manual every time. I don't feel the process is very intuitive. Really like that this model has the larger 5" screen. I didn't have any images cut off at the edges as mentioned in some reviews. Didn't notice much difference in brightness or color adjustments, but overall a very good product.

I had gone through decades of slides after moving from a spacious home to an apartment, and I threw out all but three slide tray boxes. I had planned to have a company scan them for me but decided to buy this device and try it myself instead. It only took me a few minutes to figure out how to use this little machine, and I began the scanning process, finding it extremely easy. I was able to adjust the brightness on slides that were too light or dark and also do a bit of color correcting with the red, green, and blue options. After scanning in the first 50 slides (without using an SD card), I simply connected the device to my Mac desktop computer with the included USB cord. My iPhoto app opened automatically, and I uploaded the slides in seconds, clicked on the "import photos" button on my computer, clicked on "remove photos from camera" to take them off the scanner, and started the process all over with the next 50 slides. This device is wonderful!

Cannot turn the image like we'd like but works well. It is a slow process.

The Magnasonic All-in-One 22MP Film Scanner is useful for scanning 35 mm slides rapidly, creating a catalog or for viewing on-screen, but falls short if you want to make prints larger than 8" x 10" (20 x 25 cm). Part of the issue is resolution: a Kodachrome slide might have the equivalent of 50 MB of information, but this device captures 14 megapixels, interpolated to 22 MP. There also seems to be limited color depth.Pros: Easy use and setup, fast throughput, easy to adjust brightness, easy to clean dust from light sourceCons: Limited resolution, clouds and other blown-out highlights are decidedly yellow, limited color depthTip: Cut manila folders into strips the width of media (e.g. 5 cm for 35 mm mounted slides), write description of a series of slides, and take a picture of that before each box.
