Perfect Partners 0 people found this helpfulThe Ai61 Powered 6.5" Stereo Bookshelf Speakers And DB10 10" are the best Partners for my Fluance RT81 turntable. Everything is perfectly balanced for my needs. You get a lot for the buck.

Buyer Beware 8 people found this helpfulA couple years ago I purchased the Ai61 powered bookshelf speakers to pair with my Pro-ject T1 Phono SB with integrated phono pre-amp. I was initially very pleased. However, I just upgraded my table to a Rega Planar 3 hoping it will be the heirloom table to last me. It requires an external phono pre-amp. I chose the Rega MK5 they recommend. The Ai61's now sound terrible. As it turns out, there is apparently a built-in limiter in this speakers that cannot be turned off or bypassed. It slams down on the signal all the time. Across multiple LPs that are older pressings that I know sound perfect. Research online reveals I am correct. Lots of owners of these speakers complain about the same thing. I get that it is designed to protect the speaker from ambient surges and if Fluance wants to design it that way that's fine, but the fact that there is nothing in the literature about this "feature," is unacceptable. I am so angry about this I can't see straight. I won't be purchasing so much as a cable from Fluance ever again. Ever. Again.
