I'm sure there are better sound systems out there, but not in this price range. On the continuum of music obsessives, I'm on the super-obsessed side of the normal range, and this is perfect. It sits on a bookshelf in my bedroom and can completely fill my room plus make a good deal of noise for the rest of the house too. The housing is wood, which sounds warmer than plastic. I have two Logitech iPod bases which are nice but not in this league. I just wish it was cordless.
