Product Review (submitted on October 27, 2015):
This system works for me without problems. The video and
audio are crystal clear (1080i) for me. I am relaying the tv
signal from a Time Warner cable box in the bedroom closet to
a large bathroom 2 doors away, because I did not have the
foresight to install RG-6 cable in the bathroom walls. ( who
would have thought I would need a TV in our master bath?).
The signal is consistently clear for us. I experimented with
the separation distance to see if it would pass through to
one room even further, but was not successful. There were too
many interruptions of the video signal and the video and
sound would break up.
The only wish I have at this time would be that I could buy
another receiver so that I could also monitor this TV
retransmission in yet another room simultaneously. (This
method is possible with analog relays, but apparently not yet
available with digital relays like this one. If it ever does
become available, I would buy it immediately.
I leave the Nyrius transmitter and receiver powered on
continuously, even when I have the TV turned off. On one or
two occasions, I have turned on the TV to find that the video
slowly pixelates over a period of several minutes, and
eventually losing the video relay. This could be due to my TV
or it could be a loss of a synchronization signal between the
Nyrius units. The cure for this was to turn off the Nyrius
transmitter for a few seconds and then power it up again.
Video then resumed clearly and with out problems. Fortunately
this doesn't happen often, and again, to be fair, it could be
a sync problem in my TV.
p.s. This method of relaying video and audio also works for
sending the video from my outside security cameras to my
central video recording site.
