Product Review (submitted on October 29, 2015):

I had some doubts whether this would work to send an HDMI signal from the back of my Sony

receiver to my Epson 730HD projector on my patio. The distance is only about 20' but it's

through a double pane glass door that's usually open when I'm on the patio, meaning that

there are actually 4 panes in the way, and also the door frame itself. To complicate

matters, I need to feed the transmitter through an Orei HD-102 2-port HDMI active

splitter. I set everything up...and it all worked immediately! The splitter sits on top of

my receiver and the ARIES transmitter is sticking-up vertically off the back of the

splitter. I can see it from the patio if I move to the right position, but that's not

where the ARIES receiver is located. So this unit and the splitter are both getting 5

stars. I did have a glitch worth mentioning. My Sony Receiver has no USB port whereas my

projector does. So I tried powering this ARIES system "backwards" meaning that I used the

USB cord on the receiver end and the 120 vac adapter on the transmitter end. It worked for

about 5 minutes that way but then the receiver "died", as in, no power. After resetting

everything including the projector it worked again for a while then quit again. I'm

guessing that the ARIES receiver needs more power than the projector's USB port can

provide and that port is shutting down. So I grabbed the little USB charger for my iPad

and reverted to that for the receiver and it worked fine from that point on. I watched

several hours of various video sources outdoors including Blu-ray. There were no issues

with anything as far as the video goes, and apparently no problems with HDCP. I did note

that the speaker in the projector was not working (and I know it does work with a

connection from my computer) so I'm guessing that the DD5.1 SS audio is not present in the

HDMI output from my Sony receiver. But that's a non-issue as I'm using speakers connected

to the receiver (through an OSD 120-watt 2-channel amp) to provide the audio. It's all

good...!
