The product is amazing. 5 stars for the turntable itself. I'm giving a 3 star review because of the abuse of the marketing after purchase to leave a review. If I want to leave a review I will. I do not appreciate constant emails and messages to leave a review. Forced reviews are annoying and it needs to stop

Great turntable sounds great looks perfect I looked at other brands before buying my RT 84 and I did not see the perfection in them like I did with the Fluance you wont go wrong buying this turntable
-
Wow! I watched and read a lot of reviews before I made my purchase. I am very happy with what I chose. The setup was pretty straightforward, and I had everything up and running in less than an hour. I loved the ability to start with the RT82 and build it up to an RT85. I did a lot of research on the difference in stylus options and I'm very happy with the 2M Blue that the 84 ships with. I now wish I would have done a bit more research on the platter (RT84 with an Aluminum platter with rubber mat vs RT85 with an acrylic platter). However, I feel that the difference in sound is far less noticeable than what you get in different stylus options. This is my first turntable upgrade (from a suitcase victrola), and I love it. My friends that have come over to listen all have the same reaction, "WOW, that sounds awesome!" I agree. Not one moment of disappointment, except the time it takes to find new records to listen to!
-
This is the best turntable for this price point. The ortofon 2M blue alone is $239. The table is heavy and sturdy and well constructed. If taken care of properly it will last a lifetime.
-
I owned a Fluance RT81 long ago !! There has since many upgrades since !! I just bought the RT84 and am absolutely amazed just how good it sounds!! I will get an Headshell and cartridge mounted "ATVM95ML" and perhaps a "ATVM95SH" just swap out Headshell and weigh and play
-
I had a Rega RP1 and this turntable is better in everyway. It looks better and it sounds better. I'm very please with my purchase. You don't have to pay more. It sounds great.
-
This turntable has performed excellent so far. It was a little fiddley to set up but patience is the key. For a nice quality turntable it does require setting the tone arm balance and anti skip. No complaints.
-
Updated to the RT84 from my B&O Beogram RX2 and am very satisfied. Very easy setup and I encourage you to take the time to balance the cartridge before use. If you're a beginner, look it up online and watch the Fluance videos. Easy to do but take the time since this will define the sound for you. Sound is excellent and worth the blue 2M cartridge that comes with the 84 and 85 without question. I went with the 84 instead of the 85 simply because the platter is the only difference. This deck revitalized some old records that I cleaned and they sounded great and much better than before - old Kiss, Angel City, Queensryche, Dokken era stuff that sounds alive again. I love vinyl so if you have a decent collection don't hesitate about this unit. Great deck.
-
Have had this unit over one week now and couldn't be more pleased. Easy to set up, my 20 year old son immediately noticed the sound difference from our Bang & Olufsen.
Pros: Great sound, good call putting the Otofon 2M Blue stylus on the RT84! Looks gorgeous.
Cons: Not really a con but we have our turntable located under our TV in an entertainment center. Everything at the base of the tone arm mount, including the lift lever... is black. In low light it's difficult to see the tone arm lever which is reeeeeeeaaaalllly close to the tone arm. Would be helpful to have a visual indicator on the lever to see it better and/or move it slightly away from being so close to the tone arm. -

A fantastic value for an entry level audiophile turntable. Keep in mind they offer numerous options. They are all essentially the same turntable, it's the stylus/cartridge that differs in each. If you can afford to step up to the Blue2 cart it will absolutely be worth it.

Sounds awesome- easy to setup and use!
-
It's a decent turntable for the money the needle is good thanks fluance made in Canada with neet stuff finish is awesome does the job

Vinyl means a lot to me. Even though digital quality is near perfect. I am happiest playing a record. I’ve owned turntables for 45 years. I’m not rich so this table was an act of reverent commitment for me. When I dropped the needle for the first time tears of joy welled up in my eyes. I know this is not a helpful technical review, but if you love vinyl, don’t hesitate. It’s an amazing turntable at this price point.

The auto stop feature is not reliable at all. You’ll shorten the life of cartridge and it’s expensive to replace. Customer service took two weeks to get back to me and no live person could ever be reached. I wanted to change my order to the rt85 but slow customer service made that impossible.

FAQs
Based on the popularity of the RT85 and feedback from our users, We are relaunching our RT84 Reference Series Turntable with a twist! Instead of receiving an acrylic platter and Ortofon 2M Red, we will now be offering them with the aluminum platter and Ortofon 2M Blue! With this upgrade, we are also happy to say that the price will remain the same as it was previously so you can enjoy the sonic brilliance of the 2M Blue with the option to upgrade your platter in the future.
An amplifier is only needed if you’re connecting the turntable to passive speakers such as the Signature Series Bookshelf Surround Speakers.
If you’re looking for an option without a separate amplifier, the Ai40 Powered Bookshelf speakers fit the bill.
With the Ai40, all you need to do is connect the included RCA cables to your preamp, then to the speakers and you’re ready to listen to the music the way it was meant to be heard.
If you intend to use your Reference series turntable with powered bookshelf speakers such as our Ai40 model, a preamp will be required.
The preamp will boost the signal to line level (similar to a headphone jack) so you can play it on speakers with RCA or AUX inputs.
If you have a home theater or stereo receiver/amplifier, you will need a preamp if the amplifier does not have a PHONO input. If you have a PHONO input, you may have a preamp already built in. Be sure to refer to the manufacturer’s specifications or manual for confirmation!
This design choice was made with a number of factors in mind. The main reason was to separate electronics from the turntable’s signal path to maintain the purity of the analog signal. Many listeners also like to customize their listening experience and choose specific components such as preamps based on unique sonic qualities. Using separate components also allows for optimization of cartridge and phono stage compatibility. If you upgrade your cartridge in the future, you can pair with an optimal phono preamp to maximize performance and achieve the sound profile you desire. !

What does this mean for you?
This means that you have a sensor checking and adjusting the speed of the motor up to 500 times a second to make sure the speed of your turntable is consistent with no manual adjustments, bringing wow and flutter under 0.07%!
Reference turntables are compatible and shipped with with moving magnet cartridges such as the Ortofon OM10, 2M Red and 2M Blue, giving you the ability to customize your system for top tier performance.
