SoundStageXperience.com Review of the Fluance SXHTB+ 5 Speaker Surround Sound Home Theater System
"Once you resign yourself to dealing with music in Dolby ProLogic II Music mode -- and I know a lot of folks who do just that regardless of the sound source -- there’s not a whole lot these puppies can’t do. Movies and television (especially pro football or baseball broadcasts in 5.1 sound) were handled flawlessly. For $374.99 American money. $374.99. I’ve spent that much on a pipe . . . or two. The Fluance SXHTB+ system is one of the great audio bargains of this or any other millennium."

The speakers are perfect for my room and listening needs. I also ordered a powered 10”sub that was shipped separately. All the items arrived packaged securely and set up with my Onkyo receiver was a breeze. Build quality is amazing for the price. Fluance is outstanding at what they do.
-
Good value for the money, nice sound, mid range a little muted. Recommended. The black lacquered front has some ripples in finish.
-
One of the best investments I've made this year. Would recommend to anyone who wants a reasonably priced high quality set of speakers.
-
Every speaker must be hard wired, which would require me to drill through my floor to the basement to string the wires. I thought they were wireless speakers, at least in the back. So disappointing. I was so sure of my purchase that when it arrived I broke down the boxes, and there were a lot of boxes, for recycling purposes. Then I discovered the speakers won't work at all.And they didn't even come with a single wire. They look nice, so I gave it 3 stars but I'm going to tape the boxes back together and return them.
-
Sound great and look really good in theatre. Was a little bummed with how one of the covers sat over the speaker. Nothing I was comfortable fixing myself. Not worth the hassle or time to search for a replacement. Would've like to see better QA.

I bought these speakers to use for home entertainment. The first thing I noticed when I first used them was they sounded amazing for the price. For a small living room, you don't even need a sub.I ended up using these paired with a sub for my wedding I could not be happier with the experience. We all had a blast. To sum this up they are great for movies but I think where these speakers shine is with music. Every time I listen to music with them I am happy that I bought them. Yes, there probably is better out there but everything better costs 4-5 times more than these.

Great speakers for the price, not a single complaint
-
My only complaint are the feet on the amplifiers.
-
Couldnt be more happy with my fluance speakers. Paired them with a sony str dh790. 1200 all in and kills any soundbar of equal value.
-
The good: this budget home theatre package brings you a system that drives well on a home theatre receiver, and provides a much more enveloping sound field than any soundbar can. The towers output clean, unmuffled sound, with decent center imaging and soundstage in two channel stereo.
The not so good: the center channel is too small. Dialog sounds boxed in and distant, though increasing the Db level on the center channel can mitigate some of what it lacks. Surrounds are somewhat muffled. Bass on the towers is non-existent (so budget for a sub).
Final thoughts: overall there’s nothing on the market that can bring a true 5.0 experience for the same price. That said, the biggest downside to the system is that each speaker type has a different timber, likely because they don’t share any of the same drivers or tweeters (as well as having different shapes/size). Nevertheless, excellent value and worthwhile for those on a budget and looking to up their HT experience. -
I would say that I'm not a novice when it comes to good sounding speakers, but I'm not an audiophile either. I've always upgraded my car stereos and have had a couple complete surround systems in-a-box; with this 5-speaker set from the Fluance Elite line being my first standalone speakers purchase. I have it paired with a 7.2 channel receiver I also recently bought. All that said, I can best summarize my thoughts on the sound these speakers provide versus those aforementioned prior setups by saying just one word A-W-E-S-O-M-E'! While these are Fluance's entry-level variety, they're a giant leap over any 'all-in-one surround system' you could buy off the shelf anywhere. The sound is full with crisp highs, clear dialogue in movies/vocals in music, a strong and enveloping mid-range that does a good job fulfilling the largest part of the audible spectrum, and can even hit some of the lower-end of that spectrum. As other reviewers have said - I would agree that a subwoofer is almost a necessity to complete the system; but, it will depend on your listening preferences and how much low-end you like. I complemented them with the Jamo C912 12" subwoofer and its been a perfect match so far.Ive only had these set-up and playing for a couple days so they're not even broken in yet; but, I couldn't wait to complete the setup with how great it already sounds so today I went ahead and ordered a pair of bipolar surrounds from the Reference series (XL8BP). If you're delaying whether to go with this set of speakers or another within a similar price range - stop. Just buy these and be done contemplating and don't look back!

Sound quality is awesome, impressed with performance.

I got these used for 80 bucks they r awesome and they work and sound great on movies ,cds and recording playback i use them for studio playback monitor,s as well as any other applications . I did get a steal of a deal on them..

I have these connected to a Sony STR-DN1080 and after a couple weeks of tinker I’ve got these sounding excellent! I splurged on a SVS PB-2000 pro, best decision ever, and they compliment each other well.Don’t be be naive! It takes time to calibrate speakers properly! These speakers sounded quite bright at the start but after some break-in they’ve really mellowed out. The auto-calibration was a good first start but I had to run it once a week for 3 weeks thanks to the break-in time. The last thing I had to do to get these sounding perfectly was to manually set the crossover frequency for each. Make sure to set these speakers to “Small” and not large so that you can set crossover frequency yourself. I’ve seen that you should be setting a 10-20 db tolerance more than what the factory low shows. There are better speakers out there but these are excellent for the price, can’t beat it.

I absolutely LOVE these speakers….the sound quality is great….in my opinion tho it definitely needs a subwoofer to bring out that THEATER sound if that’s what your looking for…..I decided to buy TWO and complete my set up…..this system is worth EVERY penny spent!!….the white is so modern sleek and classy I love it…..definitely would recommend
