  1. Initial Review after a few Scans 1 people found this helpful

Very easy to use, (compared to my light table with a iphone and macro lens). Will need a memory card if you capture multiple negatives. Quality is better than I expected from a simple to use device.

  2. SCANNER it is NOT. . . 0 people found this helpful

This thing works well on 35 mm slides producing nice files that are very true to the original. But it does not scan negatives, it simple produces a jpg photo of the negative, which cannot be used to reverse the colour. So with that in mind, it works very well on slides. One bug bear - the file numbering system does not continue after removal of the SD card, it resets to zero, so, beware of duplicate file names. And the date time resets to 2019 after the power goes off . . .Hey! Waddaya want for 165 bucks??

  3. Good product for the money. 0 people found this helpful

The scanner does an ok job. The images have to be retouched, no way around it. Slides come out on the dark side. Too bad the light source can not be modified or fine tuned. Also, get the extra memory. Using the internal memory only will drive you bananas. Overall, not bad for the money.

  4. Preserve your old images, although be prepared to spend some time doing it 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

I have hundreds of slides from over the years that I never look at since it’s cumbersome to take out a slide projector and put up a screen. So I ordered the Magnasonic All-In-One Film Scanner to digitize my extensive collection of 35 mm color slides. The good news is that the scanner does a pretty good job capturing the image and turning it into a jpeg. The scanner has the ability to change the brightness/exposure and color (R, G, B values) of the image as well as rotate the images vertically and horizontally. The bad news is that it’s a bit cumbersome to do it on the scanner itself. I found it much easier to upload the images to my computer and do all of the color corrections there. The really bad news is that the scanner will fill up its 64MB internal memory after just 5 images are scanned, so you absolutely need to get an SD card with lots of memory to hold the images until you upload them to your computer. Unfortunately, you can not scan the images directly to your computer, which is a pain. The product comes with a variety of adapters/trays so that you can load slides of different sizes, photo negatives, and even super 8 movies. This product is a great way to convert your precious memories on old media into digital files that can be preserved and more easily shared with others.

  5. A lot of parts 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

I've never had a film scanner so wasn't sure what to expect. I have a lot of 35mm negatives that I want to scan and upload to my laptop so that if the negatives are ever destroyed, I have them saved in a safe place. I love photography and have so many photos of my son when he was an infant that I do not want to lose. This scanner works well. Once I was able to figure out how it worked, it was easy and quick to scan the negatives. The only thing I am not a fan of is all the parts and pieces that come with this. It makes it a bit confusing and overwhelming if you've never had one of these before.
