  1. Very clear sound, with one minus 0 people found this helpful

I was reading lots of reviews in the Internet before buying the speakers, and finally was comparing between Edifier and Fluance, Edifier S2000Pro vs Fluance AI60. While I haven't done a comprehensive comparison between those speakers, I still was impressed by sound's quality on all frequencies made by my AI60. Bass is also pretty strong (that was my fear that the bass would not be enough for me). However, the only cons that I can think about is due to, probably, the nature of sound's codec - the speakers change volume rapidly: if a song does not have a bass at some point of time, the volume is increased, and then, when the bass comes to the scene, the overall volume is decreased. It is more noticeable on lower volumes. But in general - amazing speakers!

  2. Overall very good 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

Overall I'm very happy with the AI60s. The sound quality is very good and these can fill a fairly large room. The bass is better than expected for relatively small speakers. While I didn't intend to use the optical connection with my TV, I've found it to be particularly high quality, especially when watching sports. My only complaints are fairly trivial so far - it would be nice to have an even simpler way to switch between connections, and the optical / USB color indicators could be more different (hard to tell the difference between the pink/purple). I also have some concerns about the remote control's durability. Unfortunately Fluance dropped the price very significantly just after I purchased the speakers, but that makes them an even better steal now.

  3. Soundbar killer 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

I needed a nice-looking set of powered speakers with sub-out and a warm sound for jazz to connect to my new 82" QLED. I dislike the look of a soundbars and these Ai60 were the perfect match. The size is very good and the frequency does go down to 35hz. Plenty of power to fill a large room and the fit and finish is top notch. These are not audiophile level speakers but audiophiles spend way more than $400 on speakers, these are great value and you'll be pleased with the performance. I did get the audible hiss from the speakers in bluetooth and RCA mode with nothing hooked up but the hiss went away in optical mode which i am using anyways. i am also using the sub-out to a Boston Acoustic 12" powered sub. Auto on/off would've been nice to conserve energy. Overall a great buy and sound much better than any soundbar at double the price.

  4. 6 Months Later 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

I am around 6 months with the Ai60. Before buying, I considered, among others, the Audioengine A5, Kanto YU6, and the Ai60. Settled on the Ai60. Like to note right now that I'm using the Ai60's optical audio input, exclusively. Source is supplied from iTunes on a MacBook Pro that has an optical out port. Music files are ALAC, AAC, and a few MP3s. I also listen to Internet radio a lot. I needed to downsize, and did so from a full-size rig (integrated amp, speakers with sub, various sources). It would be fair to describe the former gear as budget audiophile or better. so I was concerned about sound quality. I bought in early June and have been listening since. Although I deliberately set out to find things I did not like, that was tough—the Ai60s met or exceeded my expectations. One thing they don't do is give you a lot of "feel" of deep bass. You can certainly hear the bass, which does go deep, but you do not feel it as you would with a good sub. A sub is not part of my current picture, so that is what it is. Due to the DSP deployed, the speakers can sound...well, loud...not a bad thing at all! The remote's volume control isn't in fine gradations. The speakers have a good amount of detailed sound, are attractive, and appear to be well-built. It's worth noting that the Ai60's are sensitive to quality of the source material. If it's not that great, what you'll get is not that great, and in painful detail. But with decent source, you're good to go! No issues at all with hissing or other noise for me. I did test with Bluetooth, which works, but it's not what I'd use with these or any other speakers for optimal sound quality. It's optical in for me. After 6 months of listening, I'm happy with these guys. No, they are not at an audiophile level, but they are quite nice and offer much bang for the buck.

  5. Fluance is a Great purchase 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

Very good sound, excellent low end. Build quality is very good. In comparison to Kanto YU 60, the sound range is better and connectivity is nearly as good. Slight buzz on bluetooth but turn down the monitors and turn up the source and it's acceptable. I have already recommended these speakers to friends.
