Customer Reviews

This was a gift for family living in another state. I discovered that they do not use the left speaker, because the hum is overpowering. I tried to add shielded cabling, but it made no difference. I checked the grounding. I suggest you avoid this product. Buy instead a turntable and provide your own pre-amp, amp and speakers. It's just not worth the money.

I love the value of this record player and the bookshelf speakers. Out of the box and setup was pretty easy. Setting the balance of the tone arm was not complicated and worth the effort. Really pleasing sound quality, even in the speakers break in period.Thing you may want to purchase with this though includes 2 wire speaker cable, the included cable is maybe 6-8 foot and did not reach where I wanted to install. The other item to have is a long RCA cable to connect the speakers to the record player. Again, this is included but was shorter than I wanted for my install.
-
What a beautiful product, and even better customer service. My table ended up having a bent stylus that was causing it to play out of only one channel. Contacted Fluance and they had no problem send me a brand new cartridge and head shell. Best purchase I’ve made.

Well, unfortunately I have had an unbelievably negative experience with this setup. First is the low level hum that persists. I have tried moving it to several different locations, speaker distance (turntable and speakers are ion separate surfaces) balanced and rebalanced the tonearm, replaced the rca cables, grounded it to a steel post on shelving unit and the speaker, bought a new grounded plug and even plugged the turntable into a separate outlet than the speakers, all to no avail. Speakers themselves are muddled even after what I consider a post month long break in. After the hours of moving, rewiring, balancing , t is just basically a piece of bric a brac (very expensive bric a brac). It makes me realise how adequate my old Sony turntable with Mission speakers and a Demon receiver were. I fell for the hype so I'm just trying to save someone else the troubles. It makes me wonder if all those reviews are real. It looks good though. I've written a review before but they didn't print it. Hmmm. So I though I'd try again after just becoming frustrated by it once more.

I have had the RT-81 turntable and Ai40 speakers for about a month now. I consistently get a low level hum that has a tendency to appear when more bass is present but sometimes just at higher volumes. I listen mainly to jazz and rock so no really heavy bass. I have placed the turntable and speakers in three different set ups (yes, they are on separate surfaces), grounded the turntable to both the speaker and a metal beam, balanced and rebalanced tonearm, switched rca cables and I even purchased a different GROUNDED plug that I plug into a different outlet. All to no avail. Speakers also sound muddled, even after what I would consider a considerable break in period. Also the turntable seems to lag occasionally. Maybe I just got a bad egg but my experience has not been the glowing review that seems to persist.

I ordered the RT81 Bundle with the Ai40 Loudspeakers. The online ordering experience was flawless and my components arrived in three days. Setup was a breeze, supported by the manuals as well as the numerous YouTube videos (both Fluance sponsored and independent). After decades away from vinyl, I'm thrilled with the overall Fluance experience. 5 Stars!
-
Easy assembly and amazing sound! Totally worth it! No Problems!
-
It was a superb choice for my decision to step up (from an all-in-one player) my vinyl audio enjoyment! I highly recommend Fluance turntable for anyone that loves music in both forms... analog for your vinyls, and digital from the bluetooth speakers for listening from another device.
-
Absolutely love the quality & sound of my RT81 turntable. Great value at a great price !
-
Aside from superb sound quality, I like the lift-able see-through cover. The cueing lever is easy to use. And I like the stylish classic look to it.
-
Simplified setup with an RT81/ai40 bundle. Loving it. Bulky vintage equipment and 5 speaker setup gone in favour of bluetooth and the turntable is a nice introduction to modern vinyl technology. Previous player was a Sanyo from 1977 and am impressed that this one is 10x better in almost every way, aside from a lack of auto return of the arm once the record is done playing... but not a big deal at all. Great decision to support a good Canadian company (as a Canadian) upon choosing to enter the world of higher end brands that put sound and quality at the forefront. Looking forward to a lifetime of products!

I purchased this turntable for my wife and she LOVES IT. Sounds fantastic and is a very classy piece of audio equipment. Highly recommended.

Beautiful product.
-
Awesome Product! It looks sleek and modern, and the sound quality for such small speakers is loud and crisp treble and deep bass for such a small speaker size. We are very happy and highly recommend Fluance products.

It feels disingenuous giving this 3 stars, as the equipment did sound great. However, I have not had the best experience with my order. I ordered the Natural Walnut turntable and speakers as a gift to my wife, but was sent the black turntable and white speakers. Besides receiving the wrong equipment, I had to send pictures to prove they sent the wrong items before they would issue the return. I was told when UPS received they would cross ship the correct items. I dropped them off with UPS 3 days ago and they still have not shipped anything.
