Jumpy picture results. 0 people found this helpfulWe tried using this machine twice the small reel and a big one. The small one processed it out half way through the picture was bouncing. For the big reel there was not enough tension so the empty reel could not hold all the tape. We had to help put tension on the reel the whole hours. We were able to transfer it came out jumpy. We don’t know if it was defective but we ended up returning it as defective and going to try a different kind.

This thing is a piece of JUNK 0 people found this helpfulI started out thinking this device was pretty nice, with a sleek design and simple controls. Initially, I liked that it auto aligns on the frame, but that was the end of that. The advancing mechanism was glichy from the start. The very first Super 8 that I scanned had to be scanned in 4 segments because although it started ok, after between 10 and 40 seconds the advancing mechanism started missing the sprocket holes, so I had to stop, move it 1/4 inch and restart, several times. There was nothing wrong with the film. The second Super 8 scanned all the way through without any issues. 'YEA, I exclaimed' thinking that maybe the first tape was bad and I was on a roll now. No such luck. After scanning the second Super 8 film, I tried a 3rd, and a 4th, and a 5th Super 8. No go at all.'OK, well, what if I try to switch over to scan an 8MM. Maybe that will work.' I got through it, but it took 8 segments to get through it. Now, I thought, 'The Super 8 won't work at all, so I'll try another 8MM.' 'HAHA,' the machine laughed at me and said, 'I'm not going to work on 8MM now either.'After spending 8 hours trying to get this thing to work and only getting through three 3 minute films, and having to run the segments through a video app to combine them, it's going back.

Super 8 Film-Converter does not work 0 people found this helpfulThe unit simply does not work, something wrong with the circuit board. Turns on OK, works for 10 seconds, then quits. Does not copy film to SD-card, tried 2 different cards, 16 GB and 32 GB, nothing recorded, not even the 10 seconds the unit says it is recording. Tried different film sizes, 3', 5' and 7', none of them work. Does not shut-off when trying to, have to pull plug out of outlet to shut-off. Purchased through Warehouse deal, so no Warranty. Waste of money. Instead purchased a Wolverine model through Ebay, no more Magnasonic for me, $200 out the window.

Defective out of the box 0 people found this helpfulJust received. On turning on the first screen comes up, and nothing else. According to the startup video online the take-up spindle should turn and a second screen should come up. Nothing, no button works except on/off. It is just after 1pm and all offices of seller and manufacturer are closed. Obviously not too interested in supporting buyers in the west.
