Value for money sure, but music can be tough to listen to 0 people found this helpfulI've had these for 6 months now. Many hours of movies, tv, music and game play. I am a big fluance fan, with some book shelf and center speakers from Fluance in 2016. Decided to update my main tower speakers. I was originally disappointed in the mid-upper sound and almost returned them. I found after about a week the mid-upper muddiness disappeared. Decided to keep them and sell my old towers (partially to force me to use these). I kick myself for that decision when I try to have a music listening session. Overall the issue with the mid-upper has gone - but the tweeter is aggressively bright. This makes listening to female vocals grating on the ear. Most male vocals are okay. For TV, Movie and gaming they are great; the sound stage is wide (not tall). But I guarantee every time I sit down to listen to music and just relax, these speakers drive me crazy. Harsh, very bright and aggressive is the only way to say it. Sort of like someone crinkling tin foil with some of the highs. Will I keep these now after 6 months? No. I am shopping for a new set of tower speakers.

Not impressed. 0 people found this helpfulI replaced my Polk Audio R50's with these Fluance reference towers. Regrettably forked out around $900 for them. My R50's were louder and tighter sounding, and just better sounding. However my 2009 yamaha 5.1HTR 6230 receiver was probably better than the entry level yamaha avr I just purchased now that's powering my fluance reference speakers.I'm frustrated as hell. But I think it's to late to return them since I've had them for almost 2 months. I miss my polks ????????????

8'subwoofer? 0 people found this helpful8' sub gave disappointing bass, speakers are bigger than I thought. Glue on one of the drivers came loose. Good customer service.

Fatiguing, harsh highs, awkward mid transition. 0 people found this helpfulAfter having these for 4-5 weeks, I am not happy with these. The speaker treble has a harshness and raspiness to them. The mid-range seems to miss part of the transition between the treble and mids. The bass is present and goes low, but doesn't have the 'punch' I have come to expect. It just doesn't hit, more rolls. I have previous Fluance speakers, that are 5-6 years old and I use them every day - the XL7S bookshelves and Signature centers. So when I was looking to upgrade my 15 year old Energy towers (before Klipsch purchased then), top of my list was Fluance. I watched a bunch of online videos and saw everyone singing praises. I believed it given my prior experience with Fluance speakers, so after listening to a bunch of options and even trying another brand (heco) in house, I pulled the trigger. These are 'okay'. But while watching movies and playing video games (in 7.1) I would notice odd sounds from time to time. It was hard to put my finger on it. So I started auditioning music with a more discerning ear. Female vocalists and acoustic guitar seem to make the issues extremely pronounced. You get crackling from both speakers and raspiness that makes it tough to listen to. I go and play the same source on Energy, Jamo, Mordaunt Short, and even some vintage define technology; no issues. Either a bad pair of speakers or my ears just don't like the new tweeters and woofers. The final straw was when I was driving my truck listening to a song I had just listened to on these towers and it sounded better in my truck than it did in my home theater. Spent the last 3 hours swapping between my old energy towers and these fluance towers and while Fluance has some benefits over the Energy's - the older Energy speakers just produce a better sound, sound stage and don't become fatiguing.

Bad quality. Looks like got unchecked defective return 0 people found this helpfulOne speaker was in a box without a picture and Fluance labeled. When connected top woofer was resonating and making electrostatic noise. Could not believe it at first as these looked nice. But then I recall white van speakers' story when people would buy good-looking staff with bad sound. Return looks like a pain too
