-
Great turntable. I bought the rt83 and I’m glad I did. It’s fairly easy to set up and you can be playing your records in as little as 20 minutes after unboxing.
-
Very satisfied. Sound quality is very good.
-
This turn table is awesome, everything about this item is top quality! Very cool!
-
Welcome back to vinyl! Simple and does what it needs to do. I like that the RCA cables are not integrated in the system. I needed to set up a little distant from my amp. I do wish it had auto return but that’s just a first world problem. It sounds great and even tracks on my ancient vinyl.
-
Love this turntable, replaced an Audio-technica LP-60.
Love the Ortofon Red, it is lively and detailed. pushing through vintage Realistic. Gonna get a phono pre-amp to update the electronics. -
From the moment you open the box you know you are dealing with quality. Set up is easy and everything fits tight and operates smoothly. The sound is phenomenal running directly through my Pure Tube amplifier from Monoprice. It’s everything I expected and more. I look forward to years of listening enjoyment.
-
Great turntable, great sound and great looking!
-
The turntable didn’t spin. I reached for support and received nothing useful. I ended up taking it to the turntable repair shop to see what’s up. Don’t recommend.
-
The motor is SILENT! I have never had a turntable that was this quiet. I am really enjoying the sound reproduction from the Ortofon cartridge/stylus. It also looks great as furniture; the turntable sits in a highly visible place in my living room. the attractive and sleek design makes me smile every time I walk past it. It is exciting to pull out my records again!
-
This turntable is a piece of art in its looks, it’s function, tone and nuances. I’m so impressed with its sound, how solid it is and quality of the turntable. Setup was a breeze, customer service was awesome and I’m am more than satisfied with this purchase. I had an M2 Blue cartridge from another turntable. So i purchased a second head so I can easily swap between the two heads. This makes listening to the same record a new experience as I hear different nuances from each needle.

The product is a let down for me. I bought the rt83. I read over and over about the quality of the player. I was going to purchase an audio technica player, but I went with the rt83 to support a smaller NA company. The build quality is awesome. However the oroton 2m stylus is absolute rubbish. It picks up all surface noise. I washed my records and I used a carbon fiber brush before each play and there is still a lot of pops and static. I have the tracking and anti skid at the recommended settings per fluance. The turn table is balanced as well. I wrote support a week ago and I haven't heard anything back. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt due to the holidays. I have an audio technica lp60 and I have zero issues with noise and extreme popping on my records.

I'd seen several friends move to Fluance decks, and I needed a replacement deck. I chose the RT83 as a nice middle ground and opted for the white finish, even though the Fluance site noted an approximate six week lead time at that point. Much to my surprise, I received a shipping notice within a week!
The unit looks good, sounds great, and has seen lots of use in the six months that it's been in the house. The RT83 hasn't skipped a beat in that time.
I might change to a cork mat or an acrylic platter at some point, but the unit performs wonderfully as-is. Do yourself a favor and get one for your setup! -
So glad that I picked this one, the sound is great!!
-
I had a nice DJ table, but wanted something that would stop on it's own, as I tend to wander off and forget. This looks SOOO much nicer, and was very easy to set up and balance. I don't have it into a high end component system, but I can still hear the difference, including that the records actually sound cleaner now. And yes, the stop works very well!
-
It took a little extra time to balance the tone arm, but once I got the hang of it then everything is fine. The turntable is has a reasonable price. The sound does not match the performance of my Music Hall, but it is half the price. So no complaints.

FAQs
An amplifier is only needed if you’re connecting the turntable to passive speakers such as the Signature Series Bookshelf Surround Speakers.
If you’re looking for an option without a separate amplifier, the Ai40 Powered Bookshelf speakers fit the bill.
With the Ai40, all you need to do is connect the included RCA cables to your preamp, then to the speakers and you’re ready to listen to the music the way it was meant to be heard.
If you intend to use your Reference series turntable with powered bookshelf speakers such as our Ai40 model, a preamp will be required.
The preamp will boost the signal to line level (similar to a headphone jack) so you can play it on speakers with RCA or AUX inputs.
If you have a home theater or stereo receiver/amplifier, you will need a preamp if the amplifier does not have a PHONO input. If you have a PHONO input, you may have a preamp already built in. Be sure to refer to the manufacturer’s specifications or manual for confirmation!
This design choice was made with a number of factors in mind. The main reason was to separate electronics from the turntable’s signal path to maintain the purity of the analog signal. Many listeners also like to customize their listening experience and choose specific components such as preamps based on unique sonic qualities. Using separate components also allows for optimization of cartridge and phono stage compatibility. If you upgrade your cartridge in the future, you can pair with an optimal phono preamp to maximize performance and achieve the sound profile you desire. !
These new turntables include a servo belt drive motor.
What does this mean for you?
This means that you have a sensor checking and adjusting the speed of the motor up to 500 times a second to make sure the speed of your turntable is consistent with no manual adjustments, bringing wow and flutter under 0.07%!
