I received my RT82 about two weeks ago and am loving it! Am new to the world of vinyl (or at least, haven't really listened to records since childhood). My buddy gave me a suitcase turntable and it got me hooked and I decided to upgrade.

A few months ago, I bought a vintage Pioneer SX-737 receiver and wanted a quality turnable to match. Look no further than the Fluance RT82 with a walnut finish. I am very much a rookie, but Fluance made the setup of this player a breeze and it feels right at home next to my classic receiver. Sounds great, no complaints. With the exception of possible upgrades in the future, such as platter and cartridge (but sounds dynamite as is!), I plan for this to be my turntable for years and years to come.

There are a lot of quality turntables out there in this range, and this is absolutely one of them. Plus, it offers me enough features to make it easy for a novice like me, but not too many to where it feels like I'm disconnected from the "analog experience". This hits a real sweet spot, in my opinion. Plus, there is an upgrade path if I so choose!

Thank you for a quality product, both inside and out!

Love this turntable over the project debut. I had many issues with tow Project turntables. No issues with the RT82. Does not disapoint.

First, THANK YOU to the many audophiles who have posted to this forum. Your comments were of great assistance to me! I've been around the HiFi block and back. I'll turn 70 this year. I started my love of audio back in 1960. You would all recognize most of the brands i have owned from some lowly Duals to quite exotic fare. I have had banks of amplifiers cooled with fans and even dry ice at party times to keep the heat sinks of 1000w amplifiers cooled. At times my parent's basement resembled an audio store. I have even had pvc raceways built into houses I have had built to allow for stereo wiring to be run whole house. It has been great fun. Some of my favourites have been Acoustic Research and Dynaco. i loved the simplicity. Later on i got into the exotics. I have returned full circle in my journey. I have come to the opinion that the less "gadgetry" there is in a system the purer the sound and the less to go wrong - of course, to a point. So, to the point. After a lot of reading i chose the Fluance RT82. I did this for one main reason. I wanted a belt drive BUT one whose servo motor was reference controlled for wow & flutter. the Ortofon cartridge that came with it is very nice but I telephoned Fluance parts department to purchase three more tone arm head shells (Brent made the ordering process a breeze - another sign of a well-managed company) I bought extra head shells as I also have a beautiful B&O cartridge, an AKG P8E and a Stanton L837S (a stereohedron). All will work with the Fluance tone arm height. I am happy that the tone arm height is not adjustable - have had many that were and they were often more trouble than they were worth. from the Fluance web site you can down load a tone arm adjustment chart. I happen to have tone arm gauges and digital and physical tone arm mass measuring devices. Using the Fluance provided set-up guide made the task a breeze. All done within 15 minutes. Fluance was out of stock regarding their in-house pre-amp so I chose (wise advice from many of you a DJ PRE ll to use with my home theater system. My other systems amps have quality pre-amps built-in so I can swap the turn tables (I have 3) around. The DJ PRE ll is awesome and works like a prince with the Fluance (as I am sure their house brand would) I love the adjustable gain and solid ground post. Of course, I was careful to separate 100v wiring from grounds and RCA lines. The result: absolutely no hum or static of any kind. Used my own stroboscope and the speed of the platter exceeded even Fluance's specifications - awesome! Taking HZ readings the range of the ortofon exceeded what i could hear and proved to me that Fluance's set-up beautifully translates the cartridge outputs. The tone arm balanced beautifully at exactly the specifications Ortofon recommended. the sound was spectacular. I appreciated the 'action" of the tone arm lift and the auto shut-off at the end of the album. I do not like auto return arms for too many reasons to list here and would not purchase a reference table with one (personal opinion I know). The fit and finish was spectacular and better than many turntables costing three times as much. As I have a number of awesome cartridges there was no point in me up-grading just for a cartridge as, except for an acrylic platter (which I do not like) the Fluance tables are the same above the R82. I am lucky and have the means to spend thousands on a turntable if I wanted to. I chose Fluance for excellence of sound transmission, no noise transmission, reference quality with no silly frills and only the options (IMO) that a reference table should have. Again, thank you to the many who have posted their opinions. LOVE this reference table.

I had a starter record player before this so my listening experience has improved tremendously. The sound is richer, has more bass, and displays far less flaws in the vinyl. I usually go with black when it comes to electronics but chose the walnut and am not disappointed. Very sharp appearance. The build quality is exceptional and I’m very happy with purchase.

Beautiful record player. The sound is amazing. It is difficult to balance arm properly but eventually got it. Was worth every penny

This is a beautiful turntable. Great design and outstanding sound. Will be happily spinning records for many years to come. I researched a ton of turntables before purchasing the RT82 and I'm very happy with it.

For my first turntable, I wanted to go with something not terribly expensive but still respectable. After some research, it was clear that the RT82 was a clear first choice. Having used it regularly for the past couple weeks since receiving it, I've been nothing but satisfied with its sleek design, sturdy feel, and excellent quality. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a superb, reasonably-priced turntable for any budding audiophile or music-lover.

Looks fantastic and so far am very pleased with its operation. The OM-10 is quite adequate but will upgrade at some point. I am not hearing any issues with speed fluctuations and the cueing is very smooth.

Very happy with this product, packaging was great and nothing was damaged. I had a little difficulty putting it together but got it eventually, would rather have that then something damaged during shipping. -1 star due to not including the bubble level in my package, or at least I couldn’t find it in the packaging. Overall a great buying and listening experience.

The Fluance reference series turntables are well built and the overall audio specifications are unrivalled at this price point. Just bear in mind these are manual turntables and will require your attention at the end of playing a vinyl. If you're looking for even higher audio specs perhaps replace the cartridge with a Grado. Otherwise this turntable as is paired with the ortofon cartridge is an exelent combination and worthy of your attention.

I couldn't be more happy with the Finance RT82 I purchased. It was very easy to setup. I upgraded from a 1258 Dual, which I thought was a nice turntable, the Fluance blew it away!!!! It's so quiet. It's an incredible TT. I compared & shopped for 3 months before I pulled the trigger on it... I wish I had just grabbed it immediately! If your looking STOP! But a Fluance!!!!!

My very first turntable for my system and I must say is awesome! I love build quality and most importantly the sound of it. The cartridge sounds really nice with nice wide sound stage and great center image

Love, love, love this turntable. I have a vintage tt, and I thought it was great, but this thing is amazing. Highly recommended. I'm not an audiophile, just a music fan, but this thing rocks.

I've been eyeing Fluance turntables for a while and finally took the plunge. The RT82 sounds amazing and looks great too!

Setup was more in depth than I imagined, but was dead simple.

    I love it!
