15 pounds of unbridled joy 0 people found this helpfulI bought this turntable after watching a number of reviews on YouTube asserting that the Fluance RT-82 is the best bang-for-buck 'entry level' turntable out there. Now, I can't say I consider anything $300+ to be entry level, but I will say that this turntable has brought me more enjoyment in one week of ownership that I anticipated it ever would. The finish is beautiful, it functions flawlessly, produces crystal clear sound, and is simple (enough) to set up.Ultimately, I decided on the RT-82 over the 80 or 81 because it has adjustable feet for leveling, and a better motor/speed controller. The upgraded cartridge is a bonus as I'm quite sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. But, if one day I grow a curly enuogh mustache to become a true vinyl hipster, the RT-82 is a great platform for upgrading the cartridge in the future.I purchased it to play a rare recording from 1954 that I found in a record store in Brussels, Belgium. I enjoyed the experience so much that I promptly went to my local record store and purchased 10 more used albums to listen to. If you are on the fence about this turntable, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Extremely happy with this turntable - It represents great value for money 2 people found this helpfulWe just got back into vinyl this past Dec after 35+ years away. We nearly bought one of those awful briefcase turntables. So glad that we didn't. After doing some research we realized we wanted something with higher fidelity. And after some more research we were delighted to find Fluance based here in Canada. The turntable itself was a delight to unpack and setup. Dialing in the balance on the tone arm was a new experience. While the instructions could have been a bit clearer, it was eventually relatively easy to accomplish. The tone arm drops so incredibly smoothly and slowly when you lower it. That gives you a secure feeling that dropping the needle isn't damaging your records. Highly recommend this item.
